Are you a Chemophobia?

Posted by Teresa Foo on

Happy Monday everyone! It's a brand new week with new experience!

We were having a great discussion among friends in the beauty industry on chemicals, chemistry and all things related and the word CHEMOPHOBIA came up. There are so much "chemophobia" going on and you might wonder what is chemophobia? It simply means an irrational fear of chemicals.

Do you remember our science lessons? The periodic table? Ring a bell. As we recall the chemical formula for water is H2O. Oxygen is O2. Oleic acid is an essential fatty acid found in Olive oil and has a chemical formula of CH3(CH2)7CH=CH(CH2)7COOH. Cocoa butter has a chemical formula of CH3(CH2)16COOH.

We LOVE the chemicals found in the botanical ingredients we used in our products. These botanical chemical components provide us with many skin benefits like antioxidants which help to delay ageing and fight free radicals, vitamins to boost cellular health, anti-inflammatory properties to calm inflamed skin, essential fatty acids which are the building blocks to great skin and so much more.

Here is a great article on how to treat chemophobia (source).
